In their monograph, Martus and Spoerhase discuss what distinguishes the practice(s) of the humanities from other scholarly fields. They examine rules, theories and spaces of practice and explain what research, teaching and administration actually mean in everyday academic life. In this way, they offer a new perspective on the humanities and the labor involved in humanities research, teaching and administration.
