The SHARP annual conference is coming up next month in Philadelphia. This year’s theme is “Geographies of the Book” and the preliminary program can be found here. We are pleased to announce that two members of our network will be presenting at the conference: Alexander Starre will be talking about “Relocating Post-Digital Print Culture: Embodied Literature, Metamedia, and the Paratextual Aesthetics of Place” and Corinna Norrick-Rühl will co-present a paper which bears the title “‘Don’t mention the war!’ The Intercultural Transfer of Fiction between the UK and Germany, 1945-2010” with Melanie Ramdarshan Bold (Loughborough University). In addition, there will be a plenary session titled “SHARP’s Impossible Global Ambitions”, moderated by Simon Frost (SHARP’s External Affairs Director) in which we will discuss the internationalization of SHARP with (among others) Sydney Shep (VP-elect of SHARP), Nathan Garvey, Loretta de Franceschi and Geraldine Rogers. Our conference in Freiburg and this network will certainly be mentioned during the discussion!
We look forward to seeing some of our blog followers in Philadelphia and we will be sure to post a conference report/review at the end of July!
