The organizers of the lecture series “Die Materialität von Schriftlichkeit – Bibliothek und Forschung im Dialog” have just announced the schedule for the upcoming academic year 2016/17. Initiated in 2014 by the Berlin State Library and the research group “Arbeitskreis Materialität der Literatur”, the lecture series has become a popular forum for showcasing ongoing work that links the humanities to library science and the history of the book.
The third “season” of “Die Materialität von Schriftlichkeit” starts on October 4 with a talk on the paper sheet as a literary medium by our associated scholar Carlos Spoerhase. Further topics include typography and book design, publishing history, the layout and materiality of musical works and comics, as well as the redesign of the Luther Bible. Please visit the official website to read more about the program and register for individual events.
