The 17th annual conference of the Internationale Buchwissenschaftliche Gesellschaft (IBG), organized by Ulrich Huse, will deal with censorship in democratic societies (“‘Eine Zensur findet [nicht] statt’ – Zensur und Medienkontrolle in demokratisch verfassten Gesellschaften”) and will take place from 7-8 July 2016 in Stuttgart at the Hochschule der Medien. A highlight will certainly be the podium discussion with the bestselling author Timur Vermes (“Er ist wieder da”), Alexander Skipis (CEO of Börsenverein des deutschen Buchhandels, the German publishers and booksellers association) and Petra Meier (Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Medien).
The IBG and the organizers request registration by June 15.
