The Internationale Buchwissenschaftliche Gesellschaft (IBG) is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a study trip this summer. From June 27 to June 29, the scholarly society will travel to the “Town of Letters” Horn in Lower Austria. Members as well as guests are welcome to be a part of this interesting study trip; the motto of the trip is “Book Restoration and the Aesthetics of the Book in the Digital Age”. Horn is located approx. 80 km from Vienna and is home to the European Research Centre for Book and Paper Restoration as well as the so-called “Horner Werkstätten” (a studio for book and paper restoration) and several other institutions dedicated to producing, preserving, and restoring beautiful books. The study trip will combine sightseeing and presentations by Prof. Toni Kurz (Horn), Prof. Dr. Ernst Fischer (Mainz), and Dr. Patricia Engel (Horn). More information (in German) can be found here. Questions can be directed to the general secretary of the IBG, Dr. Slávka Rude-Porubska.
