The annual meeting of the Internationale Buchwissenschaftliche Gesellschaft (IBG) will take place in St. Gall in November (7-8 November 2013). The topic of the meeting is “Das Plagiat” (plagiarism). The conference will discuss plagiarism from a variety of disciplinary perspectives, spanning the 18th to 21st centuries. While much of the program will be filled by scholarly presentations, the perspective of the author will also be heard. For example, the young German author Helene Hegemann, whose debut novel (2010) was first celebrated, then harshly criticized for plagiarism (cf. for more information e.g. this article in TIME magazine) will speak about “No Realness Without the Wound”. The entire program of the conference can be found here. Questions can be directed to Noémie Christen. Registration is possible until October 15, 2013.
